It shows and sells work from more than 250 members of the Louisiana Crafts Guild, a nonprofit organization that teaches Louisiana residents about art. The iconic building was constructed around 1840, and you can find contemporary and traditional crafts, jewelry, textiles, and metal or wood sculptures and furniture.
The Louisiana Crafts Guild has stringent requirements for membership, and only three out of 10 applicants are accepted. That means you can be sure that all the art from San Souci Fine Crafts Gallery was created by skilled artists. This place is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
